Episode Six: A Lot of Things Mean Little... (5/12/2006)

...But little things can mean a lot...A night on a Medstar... Jedi in Jammies...Is California in a GFFA?

I haven't been writing or replying lately because I haven't been able to sit at the computer... even my shiny new laptop, which arrived 10 days ahead of schedule, thank you Dell, wasn't a help, since it's hard to type while lying on one's side... but it turned out to be nothing serious... just killer back spasms, which I rated about one-point-five point below labor pains...

Such an adventure going aboard the Medstar (other people know it as a hospital) on a Saturday night... just as my husband said it was awfully quiet in there we heard a voice from down the hall shout "Don't touch me, I want my lawyer!" Our local ER is new... nice shiny, modern equipment... cable TV... monitors and fittings and cables and wires coming out of the walls and ceiling...especially in the CT room, with it's talking machine... I expected 21B to come in to see me... instead I got Dr. Jones...at least he didn't try to dig me up like Indiana would on finding such an old fossil...

There are little things that bug me in Star Wars.
I don't like nitpicking the movies, I love them too much... but there are little things....

I was the only person who snickered when Anakin said, "He was an unarmed prisoner..." Of course he was unarmed, Anakin, you just cut both his arms off!

Then there's Padme's balcony... a lot of people were bothered by the cheesy dialogue, but not me... it just sounded like two young people in love saying silly things like young people in love do... what bugged me was Anakin's wardrobe... Padme's in her nightie, she's let her hair down, she looks relaxed and happy... and Anakin's standing there, totally uptight, and he's still wearing ALL his Jedi gear! You'd think after the day he'd just had he would really want to get out of all that leather, have a hot shower and kick back in his Jammies...

Is California in a galaxy far, far away?
Remember, that's where George Lucas was born... and me, too, but no one cares... and my youngling who is five thinks Naboo is Sea World... sometimes when I remember my childhood, it seems like a loooooong time ago in a GFFA... A Time Before Star Wars... sounds like a subject for another blog...

May the Force be with us all!
